Who are we?

JOURNEYS – A Spiritual Community celebrates the common thread of Wisdom within and beyond all religions. We gather together in Raleigh, NC as a spiritual community of open-minded, inclusive and non-judgmental friends to celebrate the God within all that is. We invite you to join us as you explore your own spiritual journey and travel your unique spiritual path. We are a community of spiritual seekers rather than a church of dogma or religious doctrine. We welcome you to take a journey with us!!

Journeys is a little different from the traditional; we don’t have a lot of rituals, doctrines or creeds that you must agree with; we don’t believe we are the only way to God or even salvation; we don’t believe in original sin, but rather original blessing; and we don’t believe in evil, the devil or eternal damnation. We fundamentally believe that God is good, and that we ourselves are also good. We believe that a spark of divinity dwells deep within each of us, and that our lives are blessed and transformed to the degree that we become conscious of It.

We choose to take a more positive view of life, believing that:

• we are spiritual beings having a human experience;
• that God is within, supporting us, guiding us and bringing into our lives all that we need for a successful and happy life;
• that thoughts have power and that we can influence the world around us by our attitude and the nature of our thoughts;
• that it is important to take responsibility for our lives and actions, and
• that by working with God to manifest goodness, we can create a warm, loving, meaningful and joyful world in which to live and grow.
